Venue Spotlight: Hutton Brickyard

Where river views meet industrial magic (and the vibes are immaculate)

If you know us, you know we love a venue with character—and Hutton Brickyard? She’s got it in spades.

Located in Upstate New York—right along the Hudson River—Hutton Brickyard is the kind of venue that makes your creative brain light up from the moment you step onto the property. Industrial bones. Natural beauty. Luxe glamping. Open-air pavilions. A spa. A hotel. It’s equal parts rugged and refined, and we’re obsessed.

It’s not just a venue—it’s a whole weekend experience. And if you’re looking for a place where your guests can check in, drop their bags, and fully immerse themselves in your wedding vibe for 48 hours straight? This is it.

Why We Love It

Because it lets you build your wedding your way.

Hutton Brickyard is what we call a blank canvas with soul. You get full weekend access to the property (yes, a full buyout), and the freedom to bring in whatever vendor team you want. Want a food truck? Do it. Want lounge vignettes and signature cocktails by the water? Done. Want a disco afterparty in an industrial brick hall with club lighting? We’ve done it—and it slapped.

You’re not locked into a one-size-fits-all package here. You’re not boxed into hotel timelines or floral minimums or venue-approved this-or-that. You get options, space, freedom. And for creative couples (hi, that’s you), that freedom is priceless.

The Vibe

Let’s paint the picture:

  • Historic 19th-century brick buildings that frame the space like a cinematic set
  • Sweeping Hudson River views from nearly every ceremony location
  • Wooded cabins, a brand-new hotel, and spa amenities that make it feel like a destination retreat
  • Tons of outdoor space, including hiking trails, fire pits, and grassy courtyards
  • And interiors that feel like an upscale Brooklyn warehouse—without the parking nightmare

Hutton Brickyard gives glamping energy without skimping on style. It’s one part nature, one part raw industrial chic, and all parts unforgettable.

Ceremony & Reception Options

Here’s where the fun really begins. The property is totally versatile, which means you can build your timeline around the energy of your day—not the other way around.

Ceremony

  • The Riverfront Lawn: Our personal fave. Under a massive shade tree, right along the water—your guests get a view and a breeze.
The Courtyard: A clean, open-air space with brick on all sides—urban garden party feels with a bit of grit.
  • Ledgerwood Pavilion: The larger of the open-air pavilions, great if you’re worried about weather but still want an outdoorsy moment.

Cocktail Hour

  • Mix it up with indoor + outdoor flow between Hutton Hall and the Courtyard. This gives guests space to explore, chill, and chat.
  • Add custom lounge furniture or cocktail tables for bonus ambiance.

Reception

  • Ledgerwood Pavilion again for the win: massive, open, airy, and totally protected—so no need for a rain plan panic spiral. It gives you that outdoor feel without the “what-if-it-pours” anxiety.
  • Hosting a larger wedding (250–300 guests)? Butler Pavilion has you covered—literally. It’s an even bigger option that brings all the dramatic scale and structure you need, without losing the rustic-meets-refined charm Hutton Brickyard is known for.
  • Keeping things intimate? Hutton Hall can be styled as a moody, candle-lit reception space with serious speakeasy energy—warm, cozy, and unforgettable.

After Party

We love flipping Hutton Hall into a club-style scene with cocktail tables, color lighting, and an after-hours playlist your college friends will thank you for. You can go full warehouse party mode or keep it chill with acoustic live music. Choose your own adventure.

Insider Tips from Team Wildflower

Here’s what we’ve learned from planning weddings at HB:

Plan for Movement
This is a big property. We always recommend a timeline that allows for intentional transitions (think: cocktail hour stations, late-night s’mores, soft seating zones). It keeps the energy flowing without feeling rushed. (Add transition time moving from one space to the next.)

Think About Footwear
If you’re getting married by the river or in the grassy areas, let your guests know. Block heels or flats > stilettos.

Use the Full Weekend
You’re not just renting a Saturday. Host a welcome dinner at the on-site restaurant. Schedule a yoga class or brunch send-off. This is a full-on experience—lean into it.

Work With Vendors Who Know Blank Canvas Spaces
This isn’t your average ballroom. You need a vendor team (especially caterers + rentals) who are used to bringing in and building out from scratch. We’ve got the best recs—just ask. 😉

Design for Contrast
This venue shines when you contrast its earthy, industrial foundation with color, texture, and intentional design. Want inspo? Check out our glamping-meets-color-pop wedding below.

Bright summer florals, personalized camping mugs, riverside ceremony, and a lounge-style after party that brought the house down. You’ll want to see how we played with color and structure to soften the space and bring their playful, personal energy to life.

Final Thoughts

Hutton Brickyard is one of our forever-faves for a reason. It’s dynamic, it’s flexible, and it holds space for all kinds of couples to show up, celebrate, and create something that’s wildly and wonderfully them.

If you’re dreaming about HB (or any upstate NY venue that lets you go full creative mode), we’d love to be your partner in planning. From timelines to layouts to fully custom design—we know how to make the most of a space like this.
